Linwood's Story

Who am I? (Casting Crowns reference) There has been a lot of water under the bridge since the summer of '83. Went to Virginia Tech for (5) years to study Architecture. All that did was prove to me that I didn't want a desk job the rest of my life. Somehow found my way back to Lynchburg working for Wiley & Wilson A & E. Then life brought me to my current job here at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in DC (1991). Never thought I would like working in the Industrial Wastewater Field. But the job was what I was looking for. Everyday was something new and no desk! I worked there for (7) years before heading back to Lynchburg for a year and a half (1998)(Buffalo Forge Air Handling in Amherst). led down in the sleepy town of Dillsburg, Pa. Mostly farm country just outside the Harrisburg area. Started a family with (2) step kids (Audrey and Van) and (1) new one (Lydia). I have been commuting from Dillsburg, Pa to DC for the last (10) years to work. (Yes the job was that much fun!) Getting ready to transition to my next career since my contract is up this year and the traveling has gotten less attractive. Don't get me wrong, being crammed in a Vanpool for (4) hours a day had its merit but its time for change. The current economy is changing and we have to change with it! Both parents are gone now and my ties to Lynchburg are thin and few. The place where I grew up and called home is slowly becoming a faint memory. Home is where the heart is.
